From the PTA President… Erika Conner
Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff Members,
Happy New Year! With the fresh start of a new year we are getting ready for many exciting things.
Starting things off for the month of January, we look forward to Rollschuhabend on January 24 at 6:30pm. In February, we will have Kinderkino on the 15 & 22.
There is no school on January 21 or January 25.
When we do finally get snow, please make sure your children come to school dressed for a Wisconsin winter, with jackets, snow pants, boots, hats, and waterproof mittens. The children go outside for recess.
The German tradition of Sankt Nikolaus continued this year. The children at MGIS were very good last year and received a visit from Nikolaus. He brought each classroom a big sack of toys for all their hard work and good behavior. The children sang German songs & recited German poems for Nikolaus.
The Weihnachtsmarkt (the Secret Santa Craft Bazaar) on Dec. 8 was lots of fun. Many people came to do their Christmas shopping, and enjoy everything that was offered. Children had their photos taken with Nikolaus, Kohl’s Art Generation had a craft room set up, delicious baked items were for sale, hotdogs or chili were served for lunch, and fresh cotton candy. Thank you to everyone that helped out to make this a success.
We will have our next PTA meeting in January, mark you calendars for Tuesday, January 15
at 6:30 p.m. Attending the meeting is a great way to find out what is going on at MGIS. You will have a chance to join the PTA, buy Scrip, and win a Scrip gift card. However, there will NOT be childcare available for this meeting.
Pro Boards is our new Official PTA Forum. It is an easy way for the MGIS community to communicate.
Check out the article inside for more details.
Leadership roles in the PTA will be available for next year--this is a great time to “shadow” a position
you might like to fill. We can always use volunteers. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at
